Lost or stolen rail passes are neither refundable
nor replaceable.
Unused rail passes are refundable within six (6) months from date
of issue provided they have not been validated, and are completely
unused. All refunds are subject to a 15% penalty. Unused vouchers
of combination packages (those combining rail with other travel
programs such as car or hotel) are not refundable if any of the
services of the entire combination package have been wholly or partially
used. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
Pass Protection Coverage
The provider of this program will, by payment, reimburse the
pass holder(s) named on the rail passes for theft or accidental
loss, subject to exclusion conditions and limitation contained below.
Loss: "Loss" means the theft or accidental
loss of the railpass.
Effective period: the period from 12:01 a.m. on
the date of issue of the pass to 11:59 p.m. on the last day the
rail pass is valid. The program only applies to loss sustained
during the effective period.
Exclusions:
This program does not apply to any loss caused by:
- Delay or detention or confiscation by Customs Officers or Officials
or Police or other Security Officers
- Railpass not in your actual possession at the time of loss
- War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war
be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection,
or military or usurped power.
- Any dishonest, fraudulent or criminal act by the Passholder
- Damage due to wear and tear, gradual deterioration
If you have purchased the Pass
Protection Plan, upon discovery of your loss or theft, follow
these simple instructions:
- Report loss/theft to the police in Europe within 24 hours.
- Purchase a new rail pass or point-to-point tickets to complete
your travel.
- Within thirty (30) days of returning home, send a notarized
written report with your official police report and your replacment
ticket receipt to Rail Europe for reimbursement of the unused
portion of your pass.
