NEW YORK CITY
Holiday Weekend
December 4-7, 2008

Join us for one of the happiest holiday traditions around as the University of Wisconsin returns to New York City for a weekend of performances by some of the world’s most accomplished artists, musicians, and theatrical talent.

Your holiday weekend begins Thursday evening with tickets to the smash hit musical straight from London’s West End, Billy Elliott and on Friday morning you have a private, pre-opening-hours tour of the Museum of Modern Art and its exhibition, Van Gogh at Night. That’s right, we’ll be the only people in the gallery for this long-awaited exhibit and you won’t be fighting the hordes to get close to these masterpieces!

Friday night is a special evening. Settle into your seat at Lincoln Center as the New York Philharmonic performs two of the most popular works in all of western music: Brandenburg Concerto #6 by Johann Sebastian Bach and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

On Saturday morning you attend our popular Educational Seminar where you will meet an actor from the play Billy Elliott, and this year you have the option of attending a matinee performance of the New York City Ballet’s production of the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker. Later that evening you return with the group to Lincoln Center for an elegant night with the New York Philharmonic or a spellbinding concert performance of the Strauss opera Elektra.

Of course, there will also be plenty of time to shop, see the sights, and enjoy the energy of New York City at its most exciting time of year. Start your holiday season in high style with old friends, new acquaintances and an educational travel experience that you will remember for a lifetime!

Make plans now to join us!
